But at my core, I’m a storyteller.

Or rather… I’m a story collector. A story curator.

Obsessing over why million-dollar blockbusters with A-list talent can flop — then a teen’s shoestring budget student film get’s a Hollywood movie deal.

How can a four-minute car ad make you cry at work, while another car company’s ridiculed rebrand be rumoured for a re-rebrand?

Simple: Storytelling.

Why storytelling matters

We’re surrounded by — and I despise this word — content.

Swipes, scrolls, posts, clips, hot takes, deep fakes.

We have grown so used to consuming stories that we’re forgetting how to create good ones.

And in a world where AI is flooding our feeds with more content than ever, the most valuable skill moving forward will be…

Storytelling.

Here’s why it matters:

  • 🧠 Humans are wired for stories — we’re 22x more likely to remember a story than a list of facts, because storytelling is an evolutionary tool for memory, connection and survival

  • 🧪 Stories change our chemistry — listening to stories lowers cortisol (stress) and boosts oxytocin (empathy)

  • 📈 Story-driven marketing drives results — campaigns rooted in storytelling can see up to 30% higher conversion rates

  • 💬 Storytelling builds trust — it reveals who you are, and reminds people they’re not alone

And even with how fast AI is evolving, it still can’t tell a great story — because it can replicate but it can’t imagine.

It hallucinates. It doesn’t dream.

But you can.
